brief 

To demonstrate an understanding of personal, economic, social and environmental aspects of making sustainable decision and choices. To describe how cultural values (intangible) and other site conditions (tangible) affect perceptions and experiences in local context.

In a group of 4, we were assigned to research and analyse 2 cities regarding the topic of sustainable issues and solutions in phases:

Phase 1: Choose a precedent study and describe your chosen city. Choose the scale (1:500/1:1000/1:1500)

Phase 2: Select a precedent study of a sustainable city of your choice based on the characteristic of the theoretical and historical model extracted from the module.

Phase 3: Discuss/compare/appraise the existing structural system (tangible and intangible) (if any) in terms of:

 

  • Renewable energy sources

  • Efficiency in the use of water and electricity​

  • Design and implementation of compact cities

  • Exisiting green areas and increase of green areas

  • Fast, reliable and affordable public transportation

  • Existing and improved waste and recycling systems

  • Economic, social and environmental sustainability
