BUILDING PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS REPORT
brief
To develop an awareness of performance-based design approach, with building performance analysis as part of the design process in producing an energy efficient design scheme. To Interpret BIM information for the purpose of building documentations and design solutions including building performance analysis and simulations.

A3 sized report in landscape orientation in PDF format
From the building design from Project 1, we were to develop a building case study by analyzing the buildings’ performance, to further evaluate and propose appropriate design solutions to achieve a more optimized green and energy-efficient building design. We were to use 6D BIM tools Autodesk Insight and other relevant analysis tools to generate environmental performance simulations and to conduct appropriate analysis of the baseline schematic building design.

Based on the result of the analysis, we were to further develop the building design with considerations of various aspects of sustainable ‘green design strategies’ (passive and active) with the aim to achieve an optimized building design scheme. We were then required to evaluate the optimized building design scheme by comparing the outcome of building performance simulations of before and after the design changes and perform a comparative analysis based on the design alternatives.
